Abstract

1Beginning with the primitive Christian community – arguably a revival of the faith of Israel in its final and finest form – and using the experience of the earliest believers as a benchmark by which to judge and evaluate subsequent moves of the Spirit, this article surveys such ‘times of refreshing’ from the first to the twentieth century, concluding with comment on the links between the Welsh Revival and emergent Pentecostals.2Edited version of a short paper delivered at the University of Wales at Bangor to mark the hundredth anniversary of the Welsh Revival of 1904-05, June 2004.
