Abstract
One of the great results of COP26 was the agreement signed between several countries, including Brazil, to reduce, by the year 2030, 30% of the emission of methane gas into the atmosphere. In this way, it is necessary to identify which are the chains of human activity that collaborate with the generation of this pollutant and that minimize its release, so that they are being carried out on an LCA of materials. Considering that the PVC industry is showing an accelerated growth on the world stage and that, natio-nally, it is built on pipes and connections for civil construction, the work aims to verify the current situ-ation of research regarding LCAs of PVC pipes. through a systematic mapping. It was observed that this topic is still little studied in Brazil and that the main sources of gas emission are sources corresponding to the manufacturing processes of pipes.
