Abstract

This paper is a reanalysis of the Lomellina shipwreck (1516), found in 1979 at Villefranche-sur-Mer and excavated between 1982 and 1990, and an attempt at reconstructing the hull shape in light of recent developments in computer graphics and hull reconstruction methodologies. After revising the excavation data, the authors propose a new reconstruction of this unique ship, using off-the-shelf 3D software (Rhinoceros), aiming at understanding its slim hull shape.
