Abstract
Software reliability is employed to capture the life and stability of software systems having various criteria. These criteria comprise failure time, testing cost, quality of software, and other attributes. As software testing is a major part of quality control, prior reliability computation is required for the software product delivery. Y. Tamura and S. Yamada implemented the stochastic-based reliability model to assess the active state of the open source project. A. L. Goel and K. Okumoto proposed software reliability growth models (SRGM) based on the assumption that the fault causing a failure is immediately removed and is also called as exponential SRGM. The proposed SRGM accounts the logistic behavior of fault removal process incorporating the concept of error generation under the influence of randomness. SRGMs have advocated the software engineer to allocate testing resources and to quantify reliability so as to help the tester in predicting the future behavior of bugs.
