Abstract
ABSTRACT When asked to review another publication on the revision of the total hip replacement, I was concerned that it would be more of what fills our literature to date. Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty is a pleasant surprise. The first three chapters should be absolute reading for all orthopedists. Frequently, the first chapter of a book with this subject matter would be a review that required the reader to have read the cited material. By contrast, this first chapter is a delight to read and an excellent review that does more than simply cite the problems to date. The second chapter, on radiology, adds to the previous chapter. It should be available to most radiologists, for it summarizes beautifully what to look for and how the radiologist can be of help in the diagnosis of a loose total hip replacement. This information is not common knowledge to most radiologists in private
