Abstract
Eucamptodontopsis Broth. and Schliephackea Müll.Hal. are New World endemic genera that are restricted in distribution to the Neotropics. These two genera grow on trees, or secondarily on rocks and soil, in pre-montane to high-montane forests at 700-3000 m. Eucamptodontopsis, with five species (E. aberrans (J.-P.Frahm) M.J.Price comb. nov., E. brittoniae (E.B.Bartram) B.H.Allen, E. mcphersonii (B.H.Allen) M.J.Price status et comb. nov., E. pilifera (Mitt.) Broth., and E. tortuosa H.Rob.), is known from Central America, northern South America, and the Antilles. Schliephackea with two species (S. meteorioides (R.S.Williams) Broth. and S. prostrata Müll.Hal.), is known from Central America and northern South America. Eucamptodontopsis and Schliephackea are closely related to the large pantropical genus Holomitrium Brid.
