Abstract
Abstract Chinamiris Woodward (Mirinae: Mirini) now contains far more species than any other New Zealand mirid genus. Twenty-nine new species of Chinamiris: acutospinosus, aurantiacus, brachycerus, citrinus, cumberi, daviesi, dracophylloides, elongatus, fascinans, guttatus, hamus, indeclivis, juvans, marmoratus, minutus, niculatus, nigrifrons, opacus, ovatus, punctatus, quadratus, rufescens, secundus, testaceus, unicolor, virescens, viridicans, whakapapae, and zygotus are described and figured. Calocoris laticinctus (Walker, 1873) is transferred to Chinamiris. Limits of this endemic New Zealand genus are set and a key to distinguish the 31 species now known in Chinamiris is provided. Taxonomic characters are listed and general morphology illustrated. Distribution maps of the six most abundant species are provided, and biological information on host plants is given.
