Abstract

The title of Professor Mitchell's book appositely describes its contents—a review of the theoretical background, planning, and current results of much of both the fundamental and clinical research on radiotherapeutics done in his department at Cambridge over the last 20 years. The book is based upon the Edward K. Dunham Lectures to Harvard University and the William Withering Lectures to Birmingham University, both given in 1958.
