Abstract
All who have worked with radioactive materials or high energy radiation machines must have at some time considered what accidents were likely to happen in their particular unit. Their particular nightmare may have been a spill of radioactive material, a radium needle breaking during an insertion into a patient, or on a national scale a widespread release of fission products. This book contains the proceedings of a symposium with the above title which was held in Chicago in December 1963.
