Abstract

Background: Men have been shown to seek less support to improve their health and have historically been an under-represented population in health promotion interventions. “Gender-sensitised” programs aim to tailor interventions to the needs of men, however, to do this effectively, men need to be involved in the design and delivery of these programs. Participatory methods and approaches provide an opportunity for men and relevant stakeholders to be involved in the design and delivery of health programs.
