Abstract
The Calman Hine report, A Policy Framework for Commissioning Cancer Services (Department of Health (DoH), 1995), published 10 years ago, investigated cancer services in England and Wales and heralded the movement of cancer services into the 21st century. It suggested significant reorganization in cancer care to improve patient outcomes and, as part of this, suggested that cancer networks were implemented to oversee the improvements in cancer care.
