Abstract

The role of Animation schools lost their way of educational function due to the digital nature of education and the status of students as “digital native” in a trans-genre era that combines rapid changes in the arts, technology and media. In other words, the emerging status of animation as a total artistic and multimedia property does not mesh well with the typical skills involved in animation training something like a cutting edge. Due to the emergence of new media so fast, medium are being transformed into interactive media founded on algorithms that can be manipulated by even an elementary school students. Thus, the attitude is growing that. In this world, there seems to be an atmosphere that the animation field itself is in culturally and industrially stagnant situation. However, half of all movies are still animated cartoon film and major growth area for new animator is motion graphic images of smart media we used to. As the new roles of animation increases a revamping of the role of schools of animation and educational systems for young animators is seriously needed.
