Abstract

We reviewed the detonation development of fuel-air explosive mainly including dispersal process mechanism, dispersion characteristics, theoretical simulation methods and damage assessment, which is helpful to deepen the understanding of detonation effect of fuel-air explosive. The dispersal process and diffusion of fuel-air explosive are easily affected by the fuel material properties, experimental devices and the ratio of central explosives. What's more, the energy release process of fuelair explosive is different with that of commonly used energetic materials, which includes longer overpressure-impulse compound damage model, larger damage radius and wider area of action. In conclusion, the fuel-air explosive would be extensively applied to broad-scale attack and destroy various middle weak targets, and plays an important role in future military application.
