Abstract

The electrochemical machining (ECM) is a non-conventional machining process which has the competency to fabricate microchannel, micro holes, cavity, and difficult to cut materials. There are lots of research papers on ECM and micro-ECM. The objective of this review is to summarize some of the significant processing parameters of electrochemical machining. This review article aims to discuss process capability and research development of ECM and its variant, considering the knowledge of both applied and basic research fields. It also provides new sights into the technological understanding of ECM and micro-ECM, which will be helpful in future engineering developments of this technology.
