Abstract
Concrete, the widely used cement-based material, has major drawbacks including poor resistance to crack formation, and low tensile strength. Constant efforts are being made to enhance the properties of cement composites. Recently, nanotechnology has found application in construction materials to improve the properties of cementitious materials. Graphene oxide (GO) is one of the widely studied nanomaterials, which can enhance the strength of cement paste and mortar even at a smaller dosage. This review paper will provide insight on the effect of GO on morphological and mechanical properties in cement-based materials as well as provide a guideline for further investigation.
