Review on Development of Software and Information Services Industry in Beijing

Abstract

Beijing is an important base of China’s software and information service industry. As a major strategic pillar industry, the software and information service industry plays a core supporting and high-end leading role in promoting Beijing’s independent innovation ability. In the same way, it is very important in promoting the transformation of economic development mode, accelerating economic restructuring. In this paper we review the development and research status of software and information service industry, analyses the factors affecting Beijing’s software and information service industry. Furthermore the contents of strategies to enhance the international competitiveness of Beijing’s software and information service industry are studied. Beijing’s software and information service industry has made a long-term development which will bring long-term economic benefits, enhance international competitiveness, and thus maintaining the competitiveness of Beijing’s software and information service industry to protect Beijing’s position as a “world city”.
