Abstract
Due to the effect of light attenuation and scattering, the underwater image will produce color distortion and image blur. Underwater image enhancement algorithm is an important technology in the development and utilization of Marine resources, and it has achieved good results in underwater image color restoration and sharpness improvement. On the basis of introducing the research background, significance and hot issues of underwater image enhancement, the classical algorithms and the latest progress of underwater image color restoration and sharpness improvement are summarized, underwater image quality evaluation system and dataset is sorted out. Finally, combined with the existing problems and technical difficulties of underwater image enhancement algorithm, the future research focus of underwater image enhancement algorithm is prospected.
