Abstract

Recent results of the Reversed Field Pinch (RFP) research are reviewed. Characteristics and present problematic issues of RFP are summarized and a short introduction to the theoretical bases of RFP is presented. Recent experimental status of RFP is summarized, such as long ischarge duration (>80ms), high electron temperature (-1ke V), anomalous ion heating, scaling laws, etc. Several topics are described in some detail, such as the loop voltage anomaly, equilibrium control and error field, mechanism of MHD dynamo-action and kinetic dynamo theory (high energy electron flow).
