Abstract
Speckle suppression becomes a hot topic in the field of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image processing, which is a key step in SAR image processing. Therefore speckle suppression of SAR images has a great significance. Shearlet is a tool of image sparse representation, it uses synthesis of affine systems to build the basis function. Shearlet has good localization, sensitivity about direction, a simple mathematics structure and optimal sparse representation. Speckle suppression methods of SAR images based on Shearlet transform is reviewed in this paper, including their advantages and disadvantages, through the experiment, and the effect of different parameters of the Shearlet transform on speckle suppression is analyzed. Finally, some future work on shearlet is presented.
