Abstract
A common question consumer health librarians must handle concerns identifying local providers for a specific health issue as opposed to information about the health issue itself. This column describes a handful of the numerous online directories of professionals available for consumers looking for providers in the fields of mental health, eldercare and cancer genetics. While none of these directories are exhaustive of their respective fields, all provide good starting points for users trying to identify relevant providers in their areas.
