Abstract
The paper indicates trends in infra-red thermometry in the glass industry. A guide is given to performance capabilities of commercially available thermometers, and instrument specification and application problems are discussed for four groups of measurements. Namely:-1)The measurement of glass surface temperatures.2)The measurement of glass bulk temperatures3)General furnace temperatures.4)The measurement of metal mold temperatures.
