Abstract

Twayne's World Authors Scries, now well established and widely known, covers authors of varying importance. Any critic motivated by interest and the consciousness of labour expended on a particular author does not wish to see extensive research unpublished: he should not have much trouble in filling out his 150-200 pages. This danger is obvious enough—a conscientious job of work is not always necessarily necessary; so a minor author may find a place in the pantheon when he may deserve a niche in a less imposing array.
