Abstract

Marine conservation areas have an important role in the protection of species and biodiversity. This paper aims to review policy issues in the management of marine conservation areas in Wakatobi National Park (WNP). The research is located in WNP Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The method used in this research is qualitative method, Technique of data collecting done through, interview and observation beside study of policy document. Policies are reviewed based on text analysis. Marine conservation areas have an important role in the protection of species and biodiversity. The results of the Wakatobi national park management policy review, there are two authorities that have a role in the management of the area. Coordination and cooperation are required in the management so that the sustainability of conservation areas can run well.
