Abstract
This article reviews the development of the Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology during the last 55 years, mainly focuses on the extraordinary achievements of this journal in this new century from a reader's perspective. Meanwhile, several existing problems have been pointed out, suggestions are given to the journal on promoting its strengths and correcting weaknesses in an attempt to improve the overall development of ophthalmology in China.
