Abstract
The HeXie Management Theory (HXMT) is a new management theory that integrates eastern and western wisdom to develop a robust model of organizational management capable of rising to the challenges of uncertainty, ambiguity, complexity and change. In this study, we use case study to explore the meaning of the core components of HXMT in the real world, and to validate the value of this emerging management theory on practice. In addition, we examine the components of organizational systems and managerial activities in dealing with specific HTs in each case. The results show that the congruence of the status of harmony has a positive relationship with organizational performance. Further, the evolution of HT can help nurture the dynamic capabilities of an organization by applying different configurations of harmony in front of varied organizational tasks and allocating resources to coordinate implementing activities guided by HP and XP mechanisms. The proposed methodology could also be applied to organizational design and offer guidelines for detecting organizational evolution.
