Abstract

Smart grid situation awareness technology is a monitoring system composed of advanced monitoring equipment, which can be more intuitive and predictable in the control of power grid. With the deploy of underlying measurement and communication system for smart grids, it is feasible to carry out the research of comprehensive functions of smart grids. As a novel data synthesizing and analyzing technology, situation awareness will show advantages in the implementation of smart grids. In this paper, the connotation and state-of-the-art development of situation awareness technology is analyzed deeply, and the developing direction of applying situation awareness into smart grids and key technologies needed are identified explicitly. The possible examples of applying situation awareness into power system smart scheduling are given. At last, on the base of analysis of fundamental theory research of future smart grid situation awareness, typical applications of it in the operation and control of smart grid are proposed.
