Abstract
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multicarrier transmission technique which offers high data rate applications. Conventional OFDM uses Fourier transform for generating and multiplexing orthogonal subcarriers. Cyclic prefix is used in conventional OFDM which consumes almost 20% of available bandwidth. Research has now shown DWT-OFDM as new alternative as it offers advantages like spectral efficiency and less hardware complexity over conventional OFDM. In this paper, conventional OFDM is implemented in Simulink and its BER performance is analyzed. Further, DWT based OFDM is implemented and its BER performance is analyzed in the presence of AWGN and Rayleigh channel. It is observed that BER performance of DWT-OFDM is better than conventional OFDM.
