Abstract

This article provides an overview of perennial crops such as Trititrigia (Trititrigia cziczinii Tsvelev), Dove Wheat (Thinopyrum intermedium), perennial rye (Secale cereale L) and perennial sorghum (Sorghum x derzhavinii Tzvel.). The purpose of the study is to consider the main perennial grain crops grown in Russia and in the world, compare their quality indicators, agrotechnical requirements for their sowing, growing conditions, yield and substantiate the choice of perennial grain crops that meets the needs and climatic conditions of the Rostov region. Comparative characteristics of perennial crops with annual crops show an increased protein content - on average 2-3% higher. The indicators of the quality of green mass of perennial grain crops as a source of nutrients in the technology of feed production are also considered.
