Abstract

The reversible hydrogen storage/release phenomena on a lithium–fullerene composite of lithium fulleride (LinC60) were reported. NMR analyses revealed that LiH and C60Hn were formed after hydrogen storage. Molecular hydrogen was stored as a proton (H+) incorporated with C60 and a hydride (H−) incorporated with a Li ion.
