Abstract

Changes in volume, Curie temperature, field induced anisotropy, and elastic constant due to the structural relaxation induced by annealing are compared for metal-metalloid glasses. It is shown that the volume relaxation and other relaxation phenomena have different kinetics, therefore at least two parameters are necessary to describe the internal state of the metallic glasses. The results are discussed in terms of the recently proposed theory of local structural fluctuations.
