Abstract

The possibility of using inverse scattering for reverse time modeling of thermal diffusion problems using the transmission line matrix is discussed. Consideration is given to network parameterization via a series of numerical experiments. A three-dimensional implementation shows that, although there is a tendency for rounding errors to accumulate, it is possible to use reverse time modeling to reconstruct a previous temperature distribution and the thermal history of individual points in space.
