Abstract

Abstract Reverse phase partition chromatography (RPPC) on paper impregnated with l-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl pyrazolone-5 has been studied for several metal ions. Several complex mixtures of 3 to 6 metal ions were separated under different solvent conditions. The solvent mixtures were acetone-hydrochloric acid, methyl ethyl ketone-acetone-hydrochloric acid, methyl isobutyl ketone-hydrochloric acid, acetylacetone-acetone-hydrochloric acid, acetonylacetone-acetone-hydrochloric acid, and-dibenzoylmethane-acetone-hydrochloric acid. Beautiful spots of metals, sharply separated from one another, were obtained within a short period of development.
