Abstract

In this paper, the reverse link outage probabilities of cellular CDMA systems employing single-user detection (SUD) and successive interference cancellations (SIC), respectively, are analyzed by assuming that inter-cell interference follows lognormal distribution. Both theoretical and computer simulation results show that for any outage probability cellular CDMA systems employing SIC can achieve much higher reverse link capacities as compared to those employing SUD.
