Abstract

Sand factor negatively affects the operation of wells and pumps on production territories of SOCAR. Sand particles break down rotating parts of the pumps within a short time, i.e. the change geometric sizes tightness breaks and as a result pressure drops. In the offshore fields, a necessity of shifting to the artificial lift production technique and development of advanced pumps appears. To solve this issue partially, reverse deep well pump units may be used. Characteristic feature of pump unit is the short stroke length and starting mechanism depending on the plunger quantity. Reverse deep well pump unit is planned with 90 mm outer diameter. According to the initial estimations, this pump unit may be applied in 3500−4000 m depth as well.
