Abstract

Abstract This paper outlines advantages of reverse circulation of cement to reduce the equivalent circulating density (ECD) such that weak formations may not fracture during the primary cementing procedure. A typical operation is outlined for utilizing the method in the Appendix. Tests with large-scale geometries showing no detrimental effect on displacement efficiency are discussed.
