Abstract

The magnetization reversal of as-cast and annealed Nd-Fe-B magnets and a technical sintered magnet was investigated. Structural studies indicate the importance of the present additional phases besides the main phase Nd 2Fe 14B on the values of 1 H c . The spatial distribution of these phases changes upon pulverization, sintering, and thermal treatment. The magnetic investigations demonstrate that Nd-Fe-B magnets are of the type of fine-particle magnets.
