Abstract
To determine the response to tamoxifen in a woman with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism induced by hyperprolactinemia resistant to dopamine agonist drugs. Case report. Academic fertility center. A young woman with persistent amenorrhea, symptomatic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, and hyperprolactinemia. Tamoxifen was administered in addition to bromocriptine. Measurements of follicle-stimulating hormone, estradiol, prolactin, and progesterone. Recovery of gonadal-hypothalamic-pituitary axis. Tamoxifen can revert the effects of chronic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism induced by hyperprolactinemia resistant to dopamine agonists.
