Abstract

In the wide-ranging spiritual teaching of Alonso de Orozco, OSA, 1500-1591, who is to be canonised next year, his theology and spirituality of creation has prominence. In this he develops a living religious aesthetic: a theory of spiritual perception of the order and beauty of the world, which makes up a very important journey in the access to God through creational revelation. The perception of the beautiful harmony of all creation calls man to put himself in order. With this experience of beauty in the world and personal ascetics that recreate an interior spiritual order, with the aid of grace, the man can reach a singular contemplation of the infinite love and beauty of the Creator.
