Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find a new theory regarding the motives for reporting political party campaign funds in the 2019 legislative elections in Indonesia. Reporting on political party campaign funds is an obligation based on regulations that have sanctions for those who do not comply. This research is a qualitative research, with grounded theory analysis. The findings from this research indicate that the motive for reporting political party campaign funds is not only to avoid sanctions, but also to gain legitimacy from the election commission as the organizer of the election and to impress political parties at the central level. The new theory found from the results of this study is that "the motive for reporting political party campaign funds is influenced by the constituents and authorities of the political party concerned.
