Abstract

Goal: This quality improvement (QI) study is focused on improving breastfeeding rates in an inner-city hospital by improving Pediatric Resident education on the subject. Methodology: A survey of mothers in the postpartum period at an inner city hospital was performed to estimate the baseline rate of breastfeeding and identify areas for potential intervention. A QI cycle was then carried out with the intent to improve Pediatric Resident training for better advocacy of breastfeeding in the community.
