Abstract
Liolaemus choique ´s description was made in based on an exhaustive morphological diagnosis. However, because the lacks of molecular evidence, a posterior phylogeographic study suggested that L. choique would is not a valid species, but rather it would be a L. smaug synonymous. Here, after an exhaustive examination, we showed numerous evidence from external morphology, coloration, behavioral and distribution data, which indicated that L. choique is a valid species different from L. smaug . Therefore, we suggest to revalidate the status of L. choique as a valid taxonomic species.
