Abstract

This study aims to experimentally investigate the possibilities of reusing Granite Sawing waste (GSW) in Fibre Reinforced Self Compacting Concrete (FRSCC) using Polypropylene (PP) fibers. The effectiveness of GSW at 5, 10, 15, and 20% by weight instead of cement was investigated. The PP fibers were used at volume fractions of 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15%. In order to study the microstructure and to identify the elements of the FRSCC, SEM was used. Fresh and hardened properties were evaluated. Flyash was used as an additional mineral admixture while superplasticizer was also added to achieve required flow parameters. The GSW along with PP fibers increases the compressive strength of FRSCC. An improvement in splitting tensile strength was also observed.
