Abstract

The paper argues that meals, even business meals, should be taxed to the person eating them to prevent dead-weight loss.. Beyond meals, we should return to civic virtue in the post-Trump years by defending the tax base to make taxation more efficient. A Letter to the Editor attached at the end defends the thesis.
