Abstract

Object of the study is to design and analyze a novel dual band rectangular microstrip patch antenna for 3.8 GHz and 5 GHz to reduce the return loss (dB) when compared to the triangle patch antenna. Materials and Procedures: FR4 epoxy is used as substrate material and copper for patch and ground. 10 samples for group 1 and 10 samples for group 2 are collected by changing the resonance frequency of the antenna. The performance was analysed with the aid of Ansoft HFSS version 13.0 software. The sample size is estimated to be 20 using G Power as 80%. Results: Simulated and experimental results show that dual band rectangular microstrip patch antenna return loss is reduced to -25.6 dB, -25.9 dB at the radio frequency of 3.8 GHz, 5.0 GHz. It was discovered that there was a considerable disparity as p < 0.05. Conclusion: The return loss of novel dual band rectangular microstrip patch antenna is significantly better than the triangle patch antenna.
