Abstract
Bicillin prophylaxis is critical in the prevention of recurrent acute rheumatic fever (ARF) in patients with prior ARF or RHD. In the Perth metropolitan area, bicillin prophylaxis is administered by the nurse-led Hospital in the Home (HiTH) service. The aim of this study was to audit compliance with secondary antibiotic prophylaxis and clinical outpatient reviews in paediatric patients diagnosed with ARF and RHD in the Perth metropolitan area.
