Abstract

Background: Rhinoorbitocerebralmucormycoisis(ROCM) is a lethal, angioinvasive, opportunistic fungal infection involving the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, orbit and the brain predisposed mainly by immune compromised states, most importantly being uncontrolled dibetes mellitus and use of systemic steroids in the treatment of covid 19 respiratory distress. To study the association of ROCM with diabetic covid 19 patients. Objectives: Material And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study on patients with RTPCR proved Covid 19 infection with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Medical records of 35 patients with a diagnosis of ROCM (23 men and 12 women) among the 2000 patients with COVID 19 admitted in our tertiary care centre in 2020 and 2021 were reviewed.
