Abstract
Purpose/Objective: Extracranial stereotactic radiosurgery is a new radiation technique for the treatment of localized hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Accurate assessment of tumor size by imaging is of utmost importance because minimal treatment planning margins are added to the gross tumor. Thus, it is important that the size of the lesion on CT or MRI accurately estimates the true gross pathologic size. The purpose of the present analysis is to compare the size of HCC on gross pathologic examination with the size on preoperative CT or MRI scan.
