Retrospective analysis on the treatment of internal fixation on the fracture of the tibial plateau

Abstract

Objective To investigate the surgical technic and effect of internal fixation in treatment of fractures of the tibial plateau. Methods Fifty - nine patients with fracture of tibial plateau were treated by open reduction and internal fixtion. Fratures of Schatzker Ⅰ were treated by screws,and fratures of SchatzkerⅡ, Ⅲ were treated by screws and plates,and fratures of SchatzkerⅣ, Ⅴ,Ⅵ were treated by dual plates and screws. Results At the end of follow-up,the mean HSS scoring was 85.2,ranged from 61 -94,and fine rate was 89. 3%. Fully weight loading time was 12 to 18 months,averaging 15. 2 months. Conclusion Preoperative systemic assessment,exact operative indication and approach are benefit tibial plateat ,and satisfactory effect would be gained.
