Abstract

A 33-year-old woman, gravida 3, para 1, abortion 1, visited our emergency department with progressive lower abdominal painand 3 episodesof syncope.She delivered vaginally in a previous pregnancy, and had no history of abdominal surgery. She last had menstruation 2 weeks earlier, but a urine pregnancy test revealed positive findings. Physical examination found obvious peritoneal signs; transvaginal ultrasonography revealed an empty uterus with massive hemoperitoneum.
