Abstract
ABSTRACT Isomerization is commonly used as a highly effective process to develop high-quality gasoline production. This paper aims at studying three different scenarios for energy analysis using Pinch Technology, eliminating CO2 emission, and improving gasoline quality. The base-case energy analysis using Pinch Technology shows that the cold and hot utility targets and total annual cost are Qc = 42 MW, Qh = 37 MW at optimum ΔTmin = 10°C, and 0.1568 Cost(US $)/s, respectively. The scenarios will eventually result in the production of Pentane solvent as a by-product, elimination of CO2, and promotion of quality and quantity of gasoline at the expense of an inevitable increase in energy consumption.
